How to play

• Turn the start word into the target word by changing one letter at a time. Every step must be a real word.
• Letters stay in place: no adding, removing or swapping them around.
• Take as few steps as you can. Best is the shortest ladder there is.
• Undo takes back your last step, as many times as you like.
• Auto-fill the next word starts each step as a copy of the word you're on, so you only type the letter that changes. Turn it off to type every word out in full.
• Stuck? 💡 Hint gives up to three hints for the word you're on: how many steps the target is from it, which letter to change, then the next word. Each one is counted in your result.
• A new puzzle every day at midnight Central, the same for everyone. Some days have 3 or 5 letters.

Keyboard: type letters to fill the next word from the selected letter, ← → pick a letter, Enter adds the word, Backspace takes back a letter, Esc clears, Ctrl+Z undoes a step, ? gives a hint.
